Pennsylvania murder suspect found hiding in washing machine

Atlantic City, New Jersey (WHTM) – A Pennsylvania murder suspect has been arrested by New Jersey police after being found hiding in a washing machine.

Cody Reed and Marquis Johnson were wanted in connection with the murder of Daquan Tucker last month after Tucker’s body was found with multiple gunshot wounds near Montgomery County’s Schuylkill River Trail, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. was

On April 6, U.S. Marshals, assisted by the Atlantic City Police Department and the Atlantic City Police Department SWAT, found Reed and Johnson at an Airbnb in Atlantic City. Reid was found in his apartment and arrested without incident.

The district attorney’s office said Johnson arrived at the apartment and barricaded it inside. According to the district attorney’s office, his SWAT in Atlantic City broke into his apartment after a nearly four-hour standoff and found Johnson hiding in a washing machine.

Reed and Johnson have been charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, third-degree murder, robbery, conspiracy to murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, non-discharge, and related charges.

Defendant will be extradited to Pennsylvania for arraignment.
