Bright and seasonable end to the workweek

High pressure is still in control making for a pleasant end to the workweek. T.J. Springer breaks down when an unsettled weather pattern returns and when rain chances go back up.

JUST SOME OF THAT WINTER WEATHER MAINTENANCE THAT WE HAVE TO DO NOW THAT IT IS NOT WINTER, BUT IT FEELS LIKE IT IS COLD IN THE MORNINGS. AT LEAST IT DOES GET BETTER DURING THE DAY. AND THIS WEEKEND IS LOOKING PRETTY NICE. TJ, I FEEL LIKE A LITTLE BIT OF WARMER TEMPS. YEAH, A LITTLE BOOST IN OUR TEMPERATURES. IT’S ALMOST LIKE WE’RE SWITCHING FROM ONE SEASON TO THE NEXT FROM MORNING TO THE AFTERNOON. GUYS. I KNOW I CHECKED MY TIRE PRESSURE YESTERDAY. THANKFULLY, DIDN’T HAVE TO GO GET SOME AIR IN THERE, BUT YEAH, THAT’S SOMETHING YOU ALWAYS WANT TO KEEP TABS ON FOR SURE. WITH THE CHILLY STARTS, WHICH WE’VE BEEN DEALING WITH, HERE’S THAT LIVE LOOK IN THE CAPITAL CITY. ALL IS CALM, ALL IS QUIET. THAT’S ALLOWED FOR OUR TEMPERATURES TO TUMBLE THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT YET AGAIN. LIKE OUR MORNING YESTERDAY. TODAY, HIGH PRESSURE IS STILL IN CONTROL. BUT NOTICE THERE IS A DISTURBANCE ON SUPER DOPPLER 8 THAT IS WORKING EASTBOUND, PRODUCING SOME RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS ACROSS SOUTHERN CANADA. WE’RE NOT EXPECTING ANY MOISTURE FROM THAT. NOT GOING TO BE A BIG IMPACT HERE. HERE AT HOME. BUT THE ONE OUT TO THE WEST, THAT ONE WILL BE WATCHING AS WE PROGRESS INTO THE WEEKEND, THAT 1ST MAY TRY TO BRING US SLIGHTLY COOLER AIR, BUT I DON’T THINK WE’LL SEE ANY MOISTURE FROM IT. 28 THE CURRENT TEMPERATURE IN SEALANDS GROVE, UPPER 30S IN CHAMBERSBURG, 20, THOUGH FROM YORK TO LEBANON, YOU’LL WANT TO GRAB THAT HEAVIER COAT ONCE AGAIN. WE’RE JUST ABOUT AT THE FREEZING MARK HERE IN THE RED ROSE CITY ON THE NEWS. EIGHT STORM TEAM FORECAST THIS AFTERNOON. WE’RE BACK CLOSE TO 60 DEGREES, A LITTLE CLOSER THAN WHERE WE WERE YESTERDAY FOR SURE TO BE MORE SEASONABLE UNDER PLENTY OF SUNSHINE. WE’LL SEE A FEW MORE CLOUDS OVERNIGHT AS THAT NEXT DISTURBANCE BEGINS TO MOVE CLOSER TO US. WE’LL HAVE TEMPERATURES IN THE MIDDLE TO UPPER 30S. WON’T BE AS COLD AS WHAT WE’RE FEELING NOW. THEN TOMORROW WE’RE EVEN WARMER BACK INTO THE LOW TO MID 60S. WITH THE HELP OF THAT SOUTHWESTERLY BREEZE AROUND 5 TO 10MPH. MAYBE YOU WANT TO HIT THE LINKS TODAY. IT’LL BE NICE TO DO SO. PERFECT FOR AN EARLY NOVEMBER DAY. WE’RE BACK CLOSER TO THE 60 DEGREE MARK AS I’VE BEEN HITTING ON AROUND 58 FOR MAYBE A TEE TIME AROUND THREE CLOSER TO 50, THOUGH, IF YOU’RE GETTING OUT AROUND NOON. JUMPING FORWARD TO THE EVENING FOR FOOTBALL FRIDAY UNDER THE LIGHTS TONIGHT, TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO BE CHILLY. YOU’LL WANT TO GRAB THAT COAT TO BACK INTO THE UPPER 40S THROUGH KICKOFF ON 46 FOR THE RIGHT ON HOME FROM THE GAMES. NOW AS WE TIME THINGS OUT JUMPING FORWARD EARLY NEXT WEEK WE’RE TRACKING A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT DISTURBANCES. ONE COULD BRING US SOME RAIN SLIM CHANCES TUESDAY, MAYBE A COUPLE OF SHOWERS, BUT A COLD FRONT’S GOING TO WORK THROUGH. SO THE BIGGER STORY WILL BE THE COOLDOWN. THEN WE’RE WATCHING ANOTHER AREA OF LOW PRESSURE THAT’S GOING TO TRY TO MOVE IN WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY. SO OUR RAIN CHANCE IS GOING TO START TO HEIGHTEN SOME AS WE HEAD THROUGH MID TO LATE NEXT WEEK. STILL JUST UNDER A WEEK AWAY, BUT SOMETHING WE’LL BE WATCHING NONETHELESS. NOW OUR NEWS EIGHT STORM TEAM FORECAST SHOWS FACES SOME NICE CONDITIONS OVER THE WEEKEND. A DRY WEEKEND FOR ONCE HAVING HAD REALLY A LOT OF THAT OVER THE LAST MONTH. REMEMBER TO FALL BACK WITH THE CLOCKS, TURN THOSE BACK AN HOUR, 62 MONDAY, WE’RE BACK INTO THE MIDDLE 60S AHEAD OF THAT FRONT ON TUESDAY. BUT BEHIND IT WE’RE BACK INTO THE 50S AND WE ARE EXPECTING THAT CHANCE FOR RAIN WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY OF NEX

Bright and seasonable end to the workweek

High pressure is still in control making for a pleasant end to the workweek. T.J. Springer breaks down when an unsettled weather pattern returns and when rain chances go back up.

High pressure has been the driving force in our weather pattern over the last 24, making for abundant sunshine yesterday. With that clear sky, temps tumbled again overnight. We’re kicking off our Friyay with readings in the 20s-30s so be sure to grab the heavier coat early on. The plus is the high pressure center has shifted east, allowing our wind flow to become more southerly. That’ll make for a bigger rebound in our temperatures later on this afternoon. We’ll see plenty of sunshine as highs climb back close to 60°. The warming trend continues ahead of a weak disturbance that is slated to move well north of the region Saturday. It does brings a bit more cloud cover to the Valley tomorrow but highs still look to climb into the lower and middle 60s. This area of low-pressure slides across New England with rain chances really confined across the Northeast. It does bring a cold front through the area Saturday night into Sunday though. Our airmass cools a little as we end the weekend with highs dipping back into the upper 50s and lower 60s. With that chillier air in place, highs stay seasonable on Monday, topping out around 60°. Our next system moves in early next week as the weather pattern remains a bit unsettled. A cold front looks to move in Tuesday into Wednesday, bringing with it the potential for showers. Chances for rain don’t look super impressive at the moment but the boundary does bring a solid push of chilly air. Highs ahead of the front look to warm into the middle to possibly upper 60s on Tuesday. The chill returns Wednesday as the wind flow switches back around from the NW. Temps fall back into the lower and middle 50s which is cooler than average for early November. We could still see a few showers midweek but chances don’t look high at the moment. Another disturbance looks to move in on this one’s heels, with the chance for rain going up again Thursday. Temperatures may be cold enough for snow to mix in across Northern PA which is something we’ll be watching. A trailing quick-moving disturbance could bring us spotty shower as we end the workweek but chances look slim. Highs stay seasonably chilly in the wake of that storm system with temps expected in the lower to middle 50s.Have a great day! -T.J.
