Village of Hope Holds Tape Cutting Ceremony for First House Completed
Clearfield County, Pennsylvania (WTAJ) – Donors, Local Government Leaders, Future Residents hop villageWe celebrated independent living with the ribbon-cutting of the first completed home in West Decatur in Boggs Township.
The ribbon cutting was held on Thursday, October 20th.
“This opportunity is the first of nearly 50 of our Villages of Hope to be completed at this stage,” said Kathleen Gillespie, CEO of Aging Resources Clearfield County Regional Agency. Five more homes are expected to be completed by the end of the year and will be filled with waiting list homes as they are completed. We will continue to maintain that waiting list and serve the needs of the community as new homes are built. This interest shows how great the need for affordable housing is in our area. ”
Our mission is to provide homes for people in need as an alternative to traditional assisted living and nursing home settings, using state-of-the-art, income-based housing that is accessible for all ages and abilities. .
The addition of the Village Hall will take place in a future development stage. This centrally located facility provides space for social gatherings, activities, concerts, bingo and other events.
“Village of Hope embraces individuality and creativity, which is why we believe every individual should have the freedom and space to express themselves in a comfortable and inclusive environment,” said Gillespie. “This is an alternative to the institutional lockdown environment, offering a more open, fulfilling and healthy life at a lower cost.”
