The proposed bill will help Pennsylvania bars recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. Here’s how:

HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania (WTAJ) – Many bars are still feeling the financial strain from the COVID-19 pandemic, but the proposed bill is meant to help those businesses recover.

House Bill 1160 would allow liquor distributors to host as many off-site catering events as they like after 2024, and when 2021 Law 87 expires at the end of 2024, the federal government will allow a limited number of event.

The bill, proposed by Rep. Napoleon Nelson (D-Montgomery), would remove the end date of Section 87 of the 2021 Act.

“Although the COVID-19 pandemic emergency is easing, many of Pennsylvania’s restaurants and bars are still struggling in this uncertain economic climate,” Nelson said. I wrote it in a sponsored note. “In addition to labor shortages, rising costs from inflation and supply chain issues are creating new hurdles.

HB 1160 has been voted out by the Pennsylvania House Liquor Control Committee and will be voted on at a later date.

Many bars and restaurants have closed during the COVID-19 pandemic. The remaining six packs could only be eaten at bars, but the pandemic has changed that. Including restrictions such as being able to open at limited capacity, shortened hours and social distancing, as well as many bars and other businesses struggling.
