Martinsburg, Pennsylvania (WTAJ) – The Blair County Emergency Management Agency held a countywide emergency preparedness exercise this morning at the Altoona Blair County Airport.
Responders from various departments were trained on what to do in the event of an emergency using a jet at the airport. The training included a simulated aircraft crash to cut off fuel from the jet after an equipment presentation.
“We believe it will be very beneficial,” said Blair County Emergency Management Director Mark Taylor. You’re lucky to come in. Those people are part of this exercise.Today we have the FAA here with the police, the fire department, the hazmat, the ems, and all the other emergency responders. .”
