BRADOCK, Pennsylvania (WTAJ) — U.S. Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania spoke to CBS Sunday Morning just days after taking office. Discharged from Walter Reed Memorial Hospital.
After two months in hospital for depression, Fetterman gave his first public interview in months. You can watch the full interview with CBS Sunday Morning here.
“My message right now is not political,” Senator Fetterman said in an interview.
Fetterman’s health has been a hot topic over the past year. Just days before the primary in May, Fetterman suffered a stroke, Pacemaker introduction.
After defeating Dr. Mehmet Oz in general election in November, Fetterman officially Sworn in January 3rd. On February 16, the former lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania said, suffering from depression was seeking treatment in Washington, D.C.
“It’s like winning the biggest race in the country. And that’s exactly what happened, and that was the beginning of the downward spiral,” Senator Fetterman said.

The Senate is currently adjourned for the next two weeks. Fetterman plans to return to his duties in Washington, D.C., when the Senate resumes on April 17.
