Philipsburg Heritage Days featuring music and fireworks

Center County, Pennsylvania (WTAJ) – The 2023 Phillipsburg Heritage Day celebrations begin next weekend with a watermelon eating contest, entertainment and more.

The celebration will run from Tuesday, July 11th through Saturday, July 15th. Philipsburg Heritage Days began in 1998 and aims to highlight the rich historical assets of the Philipsburg community.

The 2023 theme is “Be True To Your School” and will honor the many achievements of the Philipsburg-Osceola Regional School District.

Tuesday, July 11th

  • 7pm – Vesper Service: Cold Stream Dam Amphitheater Area

Wednesday, July 12th

  • 4:30pm – PO High School Chorus
  • 5:45pm – Parker Skaife Solo
  • 7pm – Watermelon Eating Contest: (Front Street, by Tower)
  • 7pm – Autumn Rising – Rock/Pop: (Sound Stage)

Thursday, July 13th

  • 12:00 PM – Circus McGarcus by Cynthia Mazzant: (VFW on Front Street) (Character Meet & Greet at 11:00 AM)
  • 12:30pm – Bread Baking Contest: (Philipsburg Towers)
  • 5:30pm – PO Marching Band: (Soundstage)
  • 7:00 pm – Moore Brothers – Variety (Soundstage)

Friday, July 14th

  • 2:00pm – 3:00pm – Free Church Concert (Soundstage)
  • 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. flower show (St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 4th & Presqueisle Streets)
  • 4:30 – 17:00 – PO Drama Club (Soundstage)
  • 5:00 PM – 5:30 PM – Moshannon Valley YMCA Student Youth Theater Presentation of the Musical Susical (sound stage)
  • 5:30 – 18:00 – Jazzercise (Soundstage)
  • 7:00 pm – Hair Force One – Classic Rock (Sound Stage)

Saturday, July 15th

  • 2:00 p.m.-Grand Parade (Firefighting equipment examination is held at high school from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.)
  • 10:00 PM – Fireworks (Band entertainment provided at Coldstream Pavilion from 8:00 PM until fireworks start)

The sound stage is located at the south end of Front Street, near the intersection of Front and Prescale Streets.
