New Attractions Coming to Hershey’s Chocolate World in Hershey, Pennsylvania

HERSHEY, PA (WHTM) — Hershey’s Chocolate World has announced a replacement for Hershey’s Great Chocolate Factory Mystery 4D attraction. Closed in September 2022.

Called Hershey’s Great Candy Expedition, the new attraction will be the first in North America to offer a fully immersive, interactive experience of its kind, using all five senses, according to Chocolate World. The attraction is scheduled to open on Friday, May 19th.

Suzanne Jones, Vice President of The Hershey Experience, said: “‘Hershey’s Great Candy Expedition’ celebrates her 50th anniversary of Hershey’s Chocolate in Her World, bringing the nostalgia of train travel, the stories of Hershey’s beloved candy brands, and cutting-edge technology to every age group. It’s all combined into a whole new experience for families of all ages.^th Anniversary year! ”

Guests will experience a world of colorful candies inspired by Hershey’s brands such as Hershey’s, Reese’s, Jolly Rancher, KitKat, Twizzlers, Almond Joy and Mounds. Guests will engage with new characters such as Jeannie the Suites Expedition Co. Engineers through his 270-degree 4K projection mapping and best-in-class special effects.

This 30-minute adventure takes you through 3 main areas, starting with the Chocolate World train station, which was inspired by Milton Hershey himself. When it’s time to head to Sweets Expedition Co.’s official Platform 73, guests will be immersed in temporary sights, locomotive sounds, and realistic experiential lighting. Hersheyland Express.

Then, seated inside the theater, guests are surrounded by projection-mapped screens and whisked away to colorful, sweet spots and special effects. To move from one candy-filled world to the next, guests can control each of the train’s destinations collectively by voting using light-up buttons on the armrests.
