HANOVER, Pennsylvania (AP) — Nearly 40 students and staff at a charter school complex in eastern Pennsylvania were taken to the hospital for evaluation on Friday. .
Emergency responders headed to the Lehigh Valley Academy Regional Charter School in Hanover around noon after school officials reported nearly a dozen people were sick in one of the three buildings there. The building housing students in grades 7 through her 12 was evacuated “out of caution”, while normal operations continued in other buildings where lower students were taught.
Authorities did not provide details of the symptoms the patient was coping with, and it was not immediately clear if anyone was seriously injured.
The charter school serves 1,825 students from 16 districts in the area.
