John Fetterman, Dr. Oz Poll Trends

(WHTM) – Few districts in the country have attracted more attention and money than the Pennsylvania Senate election.

Polls show a fierce rivalry between Republican celebrity TV doctor Mehmet Oz and Democratic Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman. Even though he had a stroke in May and hadn’t campaigned in public for months, Fetterman holds the top spot in most polls.

abc27 has compiled recent polls to show how racing has been trending since the spring primary season.

poll numbers are Five Thirty Eight Use pollsters with at least a B+ rating. Voters in this chart include: Suffolk University, Emerson College, Beacon Research/Shaw & Company Research, Marist College, Muhlenberg College, Trafalgar Group, YouGov, Public Opinion Strategies, Susquehanna Polling & Research, and Cygnal.

Five polls, conducted from mid-August to mid-September, all gave Fetterman a five-point lead. All Fetterman saw was an 18-point lead In an August poll sponsored by Pittsburgh Works Together and conducted by Public Opinion Strategies.

Late September polls show the race to be even closer than the late summer/early fall results.

a WHTM/Emerson College Poll/The Hill Poll Fetterman, announced at the end of September among Pennsylvania’s 1,000 likely voters, led Oz from 44.6% to 42.6%, a margin of error of +/-3%. 5% were third party candidates and 7.9% were undecided.

Nine percent of Republicans (twice as many as Democrats) said they were undecided.

Fetterman and Oz enter the battle An exclusive primetime debate will be held on October 25th at the abc27 studios in Harrisburg.

The debate is expected to be the only one in the district, but gubernatorial candidates Doug Mastriano and Josh Shapiro have not agreed terms on a potential debate.
