Indiana County man charged with firing shotgun during altercation
INDIANA COUNTY, Pennsylvania (WTAJ) — A man from Dixonville was arrested Saturday in connection with a domestic dispute and shooting, according to the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) in Indiana County.
Shane T. Tulenchalk, 37, was charged with combined misdemeanor and disorderly conduct for recklessly endangering others and public intoxication.
At approximately 7:47 PM on April 29, a PSP trooper was dispatched to a home on Block 18000 of Highway North 403, causing a domestic dispute.
Before arriving, police were told that the woman involved in the incident had already left the scene and a man later identified as Turenchalk opened fire and entered his residence.
According to PSP, investigators learned Turenchalk had a verbal altercation with a woman before firing from a 16-gauge shotgun at other residents behind the house.
Seven troopers responded and surrounded the house, demanding Turenchalk to leave, according to the release. Around 9:48 p.m., Turenchalk roused his residence with a beer can and was arrested without incident. Police said he was under the influence of alcohol.
No injuries have been reported.

Turenchalk was unable to post $5,000 bail and is incarcerated. He remains in the Indiana County Jail, awaiting a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 16.
