Governor Shapiro ordered thousands of state employees to work face-to-face
HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania (WHTM) — 2,300 state employees will soon have to commute to offices and work in person, according to a spokesperson for Gov. Josh Shapiro’s administration.
The majority of state employees are working hybrids as they have been able to work from home since the COVID-19 pandemic. The same employees are now required to work in person at the office at least three days a week starting March 6, 2023.
A Shapiro spokesperson cited the pros and cons of working remotely and in person, but also said the influx of workers to Harrisburg is good for local businesses.
