Communities Across the Valley Begin Halloween Celebrations

(WKBN) — Across the Valley, people are getting into the spirit of Halloween. Trick-or-treat organizers say attendance is back to pre-pandemic levels.

In Youngstown, hundreds of children in various costumes flocked to Wick Park.

Melanie Clarke Panera, Youngstown Special Events Coordinator, said:

There was a petting zoo, hay rides, snacks and prizes.

Clark Panera added that Youngstown plans to expand its trick-or-treat event next year. They want live music, food vendors, etc.

“A lot of people were already showing up before this started.

They let so many kids through, ran out of candy, and even had to run around.

“Bless my husband. Send him down the street to the Dollar Tree and say, ‘Buy everything they have.'” We’ve looked at thousands of candies,” said Clark Panera.

In Warren, local business Allen’s Lawn Care sponsored its own community trunk-or-treat. In addition, the voter turnout was higher than expected.

“Over 200 kids participated in Trunk or Treat, and this is the third year. We just wanted to give back to the community. We are doing it,” said organizer Marc Allen.
