Boardman Center Intermediate School undergoes repairs after storm damage
Boardman, Ohio (WKBN) – Boardman Center Intermediate School is recovering from heavy storm damage over the weekend.
The school auditorium suffered most of the damage.
When the wind picked up on Friday evening, the roof of the auditorium partially blew off.
According to principal Mike Masucci, the roof is a large rubber overlay with some material under it. It was lifted and the material beneath it was blown all over the school grounds.
The crew spent much of their time at school on Saturdays and Sundays cleaning and repairing the roof.
“We are pleased to say that our roof has been partially repaired. We are currently waiting for heavy rains to make sure there are no leaks in that room, so it is off-limits for the time being. We just want to make sure everything is safe,” Masucci said.
The movie scheduled for Thursday after school has been rescheduled to a later date because the auditorium is not yet available.
