57th Annual Central Pennsylvania Arts Festival Opens With Children & Youth Day
Pennsylvania State University (WTAJ) — The Central Pennsylvania Arts Festival returns for its 57th edition.
The festival kicked off on Wednesday 12th July with Children & Youth Day.
Organizers said this year’s Children & Youth Sidewalk Sale was the largest ever, with more than 280 young artists from around the region participating.
“I love making bracelets and I love having different designs,” said Eva Robinson, an artist who participated in the sale. She said, “I’m making bracelets with a bead spinner, but they’re all different sizes and colors.”
All Wednesday Sale artwork and designs were created by artists between the ages of 8 and 18.
“I love interacting with people and they teach me the skills to sell things,” said Sophia Seidel, who ran a booth with her brother. “I also love making art, especially during the summer because it’s a fun thing to do in the afternoon.”
New entertainment also colored the first day of the festival.
In a previous interview with WTAJExecutive Director Pamela Snyder-Etters said, “We’re partnering with Tempest Productions to meet Alice, follow the White Rabbit down the rabbit hole, and explore Wonderland through State University and the downtown area.” I am aiming for Alice’s journey.”
The festival continues until July 16th. Organizer releases new app This year’s program guide aims to make planning your trip to this year’s festival easier than ever.
