Yoko Ono and Sir Paul McCartney celebrated the 81st birthday of the music icon in honor of John Lennon.
The Beatles legendary widow and former bandmate visited social media on Saturday (09.10.21) to remind them of the “female” hit maker.
Yoko (88) wrote on Instagram, as today is also his 46th birthday, with a photo of Lennon and his son Sean blowing out the candles on his birthday cake. I am writing in.
“I love you! Yoko (sic)”
Macca, 79, also shared an old black-and-white photo of a pair tinkering with an instrument.
He writes: “Happy Birthday to John-Paul.”
Lennon’s official Instagram also posted a photo of him in bed with his wife and son as a baby surrounded by newspapers.
The caption is simply “#HappyBirthdayJohnLennon.
The “Penny Lane” hit maker was deadly shot at the age of 40 outside his New York City apartment in Dakotaville, famous by Mark David Chapman in December 1980.
McCartney previously found it “difficult” to talk about Lennon’s death and suspects that he would not be able to overcome his friends who were victims of such “meaningless” acts.
“Difficult to think. Redo the scenario in my head. Very emotional. Too many and really unthinkable. It’s a kind of implosion. What do you think about it other than anger? Sadness?
“Like any other bereaved family, you have no choice but to remember how good your relationship with John was, because you can’t overcome meaningless acts. You can’t think of it. It’s some form of denial. I’m sure, but denial, the only way I can deal with it. That said, of course I think about it, and that’s scary. “
