Philadelphia police are investigating after a woman who was walking on Knights Road in Northeast Philadelphia was hit by a car that pulled out of a church parking lot and then fled the scene.
Police said the incident occurred around 8:06 p.m. Sunday when a woman walking in the 11000 block of Knights Road was struck by a car that pulled out of the parking lot of Our Lady of Calvary Church.
After the crash, the vehicle fled, police said.
Police said the pedestrian, a 69-year-old woman, was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Police authorities have not yet released information about the vehicle believed to be involved in the incident.
Officials say the investigation is ongoing.
