This weekend’s Wilkes-Barre / Scranton penguins match has been postponed due to the COVID-19 protocol affecting penguins, AHL announced Friday.
The penguins match, originally scheduled for Friday at Syracuse and Saturday at Mohegan Sun Arena against Charlotte, will take place at a later date. All tickets purchased prior to the home game postponed on Saturday night will be valid on the make-up date announced.
The team’s popular annual Teddy Beatos, scheduled for Saturday, will not be held during the December 11th match against Hershey.
“Penguins organizations follow the team’s medical staff and AHL’s instructions and follow the enhanced protocol,” said the release from the team.
Penguins are currently in 5th place in AHL’s Atlantic Division, 12 points behind 1st place Springfield Thunderbird and 1 point behind 4th place Hershey. In the 18 games played this season, the WBS was 8-8-0-2.
