What you need to know about Valley Pride Month – Wake Up Call

Here in Lee High Valley, pride is not a one-off festival.

Pride is celebrated in a variety of ways, including events scheduled for June, Pride Month, and other events leading up to the Lee High Valley Pride Festival on August 21st.

Think of it as a summer of pride.

Here’s what you need to know about the June event hosted by the Bloodbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center in Allentown:

WerkIt on Wednesday: June 1st, 5 pm-7pm, Sports & Social Allentown, 645 Hamilton Street. This month’s theme is “Fifty Shades of Fierce,” featuring drug performances by Enigma and Ashlyn Manhattan and music by DJ Brad Scott.

Pride Night at Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs: The annual event will take place on June 21st at Coca-Cola Park. The game starts at 7:05 pm and IronPigs takes on Norfok Tides. IronPigs offers a special bundle that includes game tickets and pride night shirts, and the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center sells shirts in the game. information: https://www.bradburysullivancenter.org/ironpigspride22

Drag branch: At noon on June 26th at Sports & Social Allentown. This debut event will feature entertainment by DJ Mourning Glory, drug branch host Christina Vixen, Venus Mystique from Lee High Valley, and a surprise special guest. Drink specials include $ 5 Mimosa, $ 5 Bloody Mary, and $ 5 Specialty Crash. Sports & Social Allentown also offers a brunch food menu. This event comes with a ticket ($ 20 / person). We do not accept reservations. Drag brunch is an event for people over 21 years old. The door opens at 11:30 am and the show starts at noon.

Instagram Live Event: Every Wednesday in June, the center will host a special Instagram live chat about building a family for LGBTQ + people. “Vision” features guest speakers on topics ranging from adoption to advocacy. Instagram: @BSCLehighValley, and chat every Wednesday at noon.

LGBTQ + Family Health Fair: June 27, 4-7 pm, at the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center at 522 W. Maple St. in Allentown. Health fairs focus not only on building families, but also on where to find positive health care providers and services.

And of course, take a look at the details of the Lehi Valley Pride, which will be held at 702 N. 22nd St. Allentown, JCC in Lehi Valley from noon to 6:00 pm on August 21st, in its 29th year.
