A sequel to “Vacation Friends” is under development.
20th Century Studios has announced that a comedy flick follow-up is underway, entitled “Honeymoon Friends”.
The film was released last week on streaming service Hulu, starring John Cena, Lilrel Howley, Yvonne Auge and Meredith Hagner.
The plot revolves around a solid couple, Marcus (Hawali) and Emily (Olji), who left for Mexico for a romantic vacation. But when the thrill-seeking Ron (Sena) and Kayla (Hagner) become friends and the group embarks on a whirlwind bond adventure during a week’s vacation, things don’t go well.
But when it’s time to go home, the relationship gets messy because Ron and Kayla aren’t ready to end their vacation friendship.
“Vacation Friends” was directed by Clay Tarver and written with Tom Maren, Tim Maren, Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley. Todd Garner and Timothy M. Baughan created the flick.
The movie’s main cast members, Tarver and Garner, will all return to the sequel.
John recently explained how appearing in a comedy movie relates to his career at WWE.
The 44-year-old star said: “I also love that comedy, especially stand-up comedy, correlates with the world of WWE, but at WWE we do Ring and ours.
“Comedians always seem to be there, always like,” Oh, that might be a little. ” I really like watching the process and hearing about the journey, and it was really fun to get Rel’s perspective on it all. “
