UPMC police lose hair lumps trying to detain an unruly patient | Crime Report

Williamsport, PA — UPMC police officers grabbed their hair hard, and trooper Ronald Barrett said the mass was pulled from the officer’s head.

Montoursville police were able to detain the man when Williamsport UMPC staff worked to calm him down.

Cody Michael Klinger, 27, of Williamsport, was charged with several crimes after authorities said he threatened to hurt himself before being taken to the hospital. Barrett said Klinger had to be detained in bed after fighting the staff who tried to calm him down. Klinger reportedly yelled while in custody and upset patients in the hospital.

Barrett said they spit on Trooper’s face as Klinger tried to restrain him in bed. According to the affidavit, Klinger was put on a saliva mask.

Klinger was charged with two felony assaults and one weighted assault attempting to cause physical injury to a designated individual. According to court records, Klinger also has four counts of one misdemeanor terrorist threat, four counts of simple assaults of two misdemeanors, two misdemeanors who resist arrest, and three misdemeanors. Was charged with chaotic acts and harassment.

Klinger’s bail is not listed.
