East Rock Hill — Police officers responded to reports of a domestic incident involving a mother and son at 600 blocks of Campus Drive in East Rock Hill around 11:00 am on June 7, Penridge Regional Police said.
“Before the police arrived, my son, armed with two large swords, left the house and moved south toward a promenade near a branch road,” the department’s announcement said. “After an approximately two-hour search on foot using police officers, drones, and K9 units, the man was found and detained in the Minsi Trail and Schwenkmir Road areas.”
According to police, he will be taken to St. Luke’s Upper Back Campus for a mental health assessment and will be held criminally liable.
Police said the case was blocked for about an hour and a half, based on the proximity of both Penridge High School and Penridge North Junior High School.
“This decision was made with great care,” the release said. “The Penridge Regional Police Department thank students, staff and families for their understanding during the school blockade.”
According to police, the Penridge Regional Police were assisted by the Perkasie Autonomous Region Police, Hilltown Township Police, Bucks County Sheriff’s Office, Bedminster Township Drone Operator, and Central Bucks Regional Police K9 Unit. The Souderton Community Ambulance Corps was also on site to provide first aid on this subject.
