After four weeks without reports of death by COVID, the weekly report from the Berks County Coroner on Monday included two.
The new death brings the total number of COVID deaths in the county to 1,454 during the pandemic.
According to information from the coroner’s office, both dead were men. One was 45 and the other was 92.
Data from the state’s Ministry of Health’s COVID dashboard report that county residents died regardless of where they died, with 1,594 Burks dead as of Monday.
Across the state, 44,610 people died from COVID.
Daily COVID cases at Burkes remained low in data released Monday.
An update to the status dashboard showed 27 new cases and reinfections. This brings the total county pandemic to 102,704.
Burks averaged 32 cases per day last week and 29 cases per day in the last two weeks.
Across the state, 1,005 new cases and reinfections were reported on Monday. In a pandemic, more than 2.8 million COVID cases have occurred in Pennsylvania.
As with the daily case, COVID infections at Burks remained low on Monday.
According to state data, there were only five COVID patients admitted to the county and no one in the intensive care unit. Two patients were on mechanical ventilation.
Throughout the state, there were 510 inpatient COVID patients as of Monday, 69 in the intensive care unit and 33 on ventilator.
