Lacrosse, Wisconsin (AP) —Sheriffs say they arrested two men for the deaths of three men killed in a quarry in western Wisconsin last week.
According to the La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office, one man was arrested in Wausau before 2 am on Thursday and another man was detained in Amherst around 8:30 pm on Wednesday. Both communities are located in central Wisconsin.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the bodies of Pen Lo, Nemo Yang (both 24 years old) and Trevor Maloney (23 years old) were found by two milestone quarry workers shortly before 5 am on Friday. .. The quarry is located near West Salem, about 14 miles (23 km) northeast of Lacrosse, on the Minnesota border.
Lacrosse County Sheriff Jeff Wolf calls the dead a “targeted act.” Officials said the victims were deadly shot early Friday and they knew their attackers and were killed in the quarry.
There is no clear relationship between the dead and the milestone quarry or its employees, Wolff said.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Rho and Yang did not have permanent addresses, but frequently lived in and around the La Crosse region, but Maloney’s last address was in Cashton and Sparta, western Wisconsin. ..
The agency scheduled a press conference Thursday afternoon.
