Trunk-or-treat event highlights weekend in Altoona, Evensburg

(WTAJ) — Two trunk-or-treat events were held in the central Pennsylvania area ahead of Halloween Sunday.

In Altoona, the family attended St. John’s Catholic Church’s third annual trunk or treat event. Candy passed out and a costume contest was held along with a mini-her parade at the Lakemont Fire Station.

“We basically just advertised that we do trunk-or-treat. People signed up to do trunk-or-treat, they signed up to do trunk, and then we “We do flyers and it’s been great. Every year it gets bigger and bigger, and more people come,” said event organizer Diane Ryan. I feel like I am.”

There were also fun games and activities for children.

In Evensburg, businesses participated in Wolf’s Performing Arts’ annual trunk-or-treat event. Several companies set up mass inflatable festivals at Penn Eben Park to hand out candy. This year we gave out more candy than ever before, supplying over 300 bags of candy.

“After a lot of folding and stapling, we have all the inflatables that the kids will enjoy going outside to look at and take pictures with,” said event organizer Laura Wolfe. “So it takes a lot of time to set everything up. This is our fourth year and we are collecting donations from all the companies in Ebensburg.”

Next year, Wolf hopes more local businesses will be able to participate and distribute good bags.
