Coweta, Oklahoma (AP) —Some of the reported tornadoes struck and caused damage to Oklahoma from late Sunday to early Monday morning, with no immediate casualties.
The stormy weather system also brought heavy rains, lightning and wind to parts of Arkansaw, Kansas, Missouri and Texas.
Starting Sunday afternoon, tornado warnings and damage reports appeared throughout Oklahoma. The exact number of tornadoes that landed was not yet available at the beginning of Monday.
A possible tornado struck the outskirts of Tulsa in Coweta late Sunday, causing serious damage to high schools, homes and gas stations, media reports said.
Early in the evening, a hail storm shattered Norman’s windows and dented his car, according to media outlets. Norman is located approximately 20 miles (32 kilometers) south of Oklahoma City.
No casualties were reported immediately.
