Three Berks wrestlers win silver medals and 15 advance to the region from District 3 Class 2A tournaments

Harrisburg — Three silver medalists headed and 17 Berks wrestlers competed in the District 3 Class 2A tournament on Saturday in Central Dauphin East.

Gabriel Davis and Brody Klein of Berks Catholics, and Caleb Brewer of Wyomissing all won silver medals. Fifteen bark wrestlers won the spot in the Top 7 at the South East Regional Tournament at Bethlehem Liberty High School on March 4-5.

At 172, Davis lost to Trinity’s Jaguar Gray in a championship match. At 215, Klein lost to West Perry’s Brad Morrison 7-2 in a championship match. At 285, Brewer was secured by Bishop McDavid’s Riley Robel in 41 seconds in a championship match.

Berks Catholic Braden Hartlanft finished third with 106. He defeated Sasukenita’s Kale Quigley 6-3 in the third-place match.

Brandywine Heights’ Jacob Deisher finished third with 120. He defeated Upper Dauphin’s Jona Peterson 1-0 in the 3rd place match.

Deysher has been the runner-up in District 3 with 106 each for the past two years. He qualified for the state last year.

Berks Catholic Marvin Armistead secured Ian Bitaro in School Kill Valley at 1:42 in the 132nd third place match.

Berks Catholic’s Carmine Range finished third with 138. He pinned Colombia’s Staudamia Campbell at 1:18 in third place.

Saints’ Mason Iswald finished fourth with 285. He lost 3-1 to Upper Dauphin’s Peyton Wenzel in the third place match.

Hamburg’s Charles Shepherd finished fifth with 285. He pinned Julian Dodson of Sand Boil Springs at 1:15 in the 5th place match.

Christopher Smith of Saints finished sixth with 113. He fell in 53 seconds in the fifth place and lost to Jordan Piffer of Upper Dauphin.

Berks Catholic John Maurer finished sixth with 145. He lost to Big Raville’s Seth Lady 3-1 in the 5th place match.

Hamburg’s Dalegan motto finished sixth with 215.He was pinned to Lancaster Catholic Ben Reigner in 56 seconds in the 5th place match.

Brandywine Heights’ Dillon Reinert finished in 7th place with 126. He defeated Bishop McDavid Hunter Wagner 10-2 in the 7th place match.

Reinert won the £ 113 title in District 3 last year. He has also participated in each state tournament over the last two years.

Berks Catholic Timothy Sailor finished seventh with 189. He defeated West Perry’s Quad Bowden 7-1 in a 7th place match.

Jacob Grace of Brandywine Heights finished eighth with 106. He lost to Colombia’s Loudon Lap by the fall at 4:48 in the 7th place match.

Joshua Sterner of Brandywine Heights finished eighth with 138. He lost to Delon Catholic by the fall at 1:30 in the 7th place match.
