Pittsburgh (KDKA) — A junior at Perry High School said he was attacked twice in school on Thursday.
“I’m angry. They can’t keep our children safe at all,” said the boy’s mother, Chrissy Higgs.
She said a cell phone video showed her son being beaten with a can in school on Thursday and then attacked.
“The kid gets up, throws a pop can in his head, and then just starts hitting him,” Higgs said.
The mother said her son and girlfriend were cornered and punches began to fly from several students.
“They fixed him and his girlfriend in the corner, and three of them just started hitting him, hitting him and kicking him,” Higgs said.
She believes her son was attacked to protect his girlfriend. The boy was taken to the emergency room.
“He has a lot of bruises on his face, a bruise on his head, a bruise on his chest and back, and a cut. He is currently being checked out for a cerebral tremor in the emergency room,” Higgs said. Said.
She said she was very worried about her son’s safety.
“They have no control over these children,” Higgs said. “They have an entire school of children that they can’t control.”
“I don’t feel like they’re trying to keep our children as safe as they should be,” she added.
A district spokesperson said guards and staff quickly disbanded the battle involving multiple students sent home. The incident is under review.
“They are as bad as the students they are doing. They let them do what they are doing and they say it’s basically okay because they don’t produce results. Their result is the day they graduate from school, “Higgs said. ..
KDKA-TV asked the district what discipline the students might face and what they were doing about safety, but did not get an answer.
