Fall Like & Dry Wednesday; Higher Humidity & Rain Chances Thursday

Autumn-like air lingers overhead Tuesday night as temperatures fall to the mid 50s. Wednesday stays comfy and dry. Shower chances rise Wednesday night.

OKAY, WE’RE NOT GOING TO HAVE A BETTER STORY THAN THAT. OKAY. NOW WE KNOW. THREE HOUR NAP, FULL BOTTLE. YOU ARE GOOD TO GO FOR THE DAY, BABY. YOU CAN TELL ALTHEA HAD THAT MINDSET. I RUN A LOT. WERE LOCKED IN. EXACTLY. NO, I’M IMPRESSED WITH JUST THE COMPETITIVE EDGE THAT THEY OBVIOUSLY HAD. THAT WAS GREAT STUFF. ALL RIGHT. ETHAN HUSTON. GREAT DAY FOR A LITTLE BABY RACE OR ANYTHING ELSE. THAT’S RIGHT. COMFORTABLE OUT THERE ACROSS THE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY THROUGH THE DAY TODAY. IT’S GOING TO FEEL FANTASTIC AS WE HEAD THROUGH THE NIGHT TONIGHT. THAT AUTUMN, LIKE FEEL WITH TEMPERATURES AND HUMIDITY, VALUES WELL BELOW AVERAGE. ENJOY IT WHILE IT LASTS BECAUSE THE RAIN CHANCES WILL GO UP AND SO WILL THE HUMIDITY AS WE APPROACH THE WEEKEND, ESPECIALLY AS WE HEAD INTO FRIDAY. RIGHT NOW, OUTSIDE, IT IS CALM. IT IS QUIET, BUT THE BABIES ARE SLEEPING RIGHT NOW, 67 DEGREES, DEW POINTS HANGING OUT IN THE MID 50S WITH JUST A GENTLE BREEZE OUT OF THE WEST NORTHWEST. WE WILL CONTINUE TO SEE MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES, BUT SEASONABLY COOL TEMPERATURES. SOME AREAS WILL SEE LOWS ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE LOWER 50S MUCH OF OUR MAJOR CITIES WILL BE IN THE MID TO UPPER 50S, CLOSE TO 60 DEGREES, MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES IN THE MORNING, BUT THE CLOUDS WILL THICKEN UP THROUGH THE DAY. THAT’S AHEAD OF OUR NEXT STORM SYSTEM THAT WILL GET HERE LATE TOMORROW EVENING INTO TOMORROW NIGHT. MAY SEE A FEW ISOLATED THUNDER SHOWERS BY ABOUT THIS TIME TOMORROW. BUT MUCH OF THE DAY IS GOING TO BE DRY AND IT’S STILL GOING TO BE PLEASANT OUT THERE WITH HIGHS IN THE LOW TO MID 80S. SO HERE’S A BREAKDOWN OF THE RAIN CHANCES FOR LATE TOMORROW ON INTO THURSDAY. NOTICE TOMORROW EVENING, QUIET LOW. IT’S AFTER MIDNIGHT. THE SHOWER CHANCES AND THUNDER SHOWER CHANCES WILL START TO RISE. COULD SEE A FEW PASSING SHOWERS THURSDAY MORNING, BUT THEN WE’LL START DRYING BACK OUT AS WE HEAD THROUGH TUESDAY OR EXCUSE ME, THURSDAY EVENING. BE PREPARED FOR MORE RAIN AGAIN, THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY MORNING, JUST 82 FOR HIGH TODAY AFTER A MORNING LOW OF 69. WE’RE NOW BELOW THAT OUT AT THE AIRPORT. IT’S 63 IN EPHRATA, LANCASTER COUNTY, 65 RIGHT NOW IN LEBANON. BUT MAN, OH, MAN, THOSE DEW POINTS ARE SITTING COMFORTABLY DOWN TO THE MID 50S. REMEMBER AT THIS TIME YESTERDAY, THEY WERE STILL NEAR 70 DEGREES. SO WE’RE COMFORTABLE ACROSS THE MID-ATLANTIC AND NEW ENGLAND. BUT NOTICE THAT SURGE OF INCREDIBLY HUMID AIR, A DEW POINT OF 80 RIGHT NOW IN KANSAS CITY AND ALSO IN DES MOINES. YOU CAN SEE HOW THAT SURGE OF INCREDIBLY HUMID AIR IS MAKING ITS WAY ALL THE WAY UP TOWARDS THE CANADIAN BORDER. SO HERE’S WHAT’S GOING ON. A STORM SYSTEM IS STARTING TO FORM BACK OVER THE UPPER PLAINS. YOU CAN SEE THAT SURGE OF MORE HUMID AIR. THIS STORM IS GOING TO CROSS OVER THE GREAT LAKES AND ATTACHED TO IT IS THAT WARM FRONT. AND THAT’S GOING TO OPEN THE DOOR FOR THAT HIGHER HEAT AND HUMIDITY TO BUILD BACK IN ACROSS THE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. SO LARGE AND IN CHARGE, BLUE RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE THROUGH THE NIGHT AND MOST OF TOMORROW. BUT NOTICE ON THE PREDICTOR THE CLOUDS START THICKENING UP THROUGH THE DAY. BUT WE SHOULD STAY DRY UNTIL WE GET CLOSER TO MIDNIGHT. FRONT MOVES ON THROUGH. IT’S GOING TO START TO FEEL STICKY TO MUGGY. BEST CHANCE FOR PASSING SHOWERS AND STORMS TOMORROW NIGHT WILL BE WEST OF I 99, BUT A FEW MAY SNEAK INTO THE VALLEY. NOTICE WE’VE GOT SOME SHOWERS OUT THERE ON THURSDAY MORNING. AND BECAUSE THIS FRONTAL BOUNDARY STAYS IN THE REGION, I THINK MUCH OF OUR THURSDAY IS GOING TO BE FAIRLY CLOUDY. THE SHOWER AND THUNDERSHOWER CHANCES WILL START TO RISE AGAIN AS WE HEAD INTO THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY. NOT LOOKING FOR A WASHOUT. THERE’S JUST GOING TO BE PERIODS OF SHOWERS AND STORMS AROUND AT TIMES FOR THURSDAY AND FRIDAY AT BEST, A LITTLE BIT LOWER CHANCES FOR THOSE SHOWERS AND STORMS ON SATURDAY, BUT COMFORTABLE TOMORROW, SEASONABLY STICKY ON THURSDAY, DOWNRIGHT MUGGY ON FRIDAY. AND THIS COLD FRONT THAT’S ATTACHED TO THE STORM SYSTEM STARTS PUSHING INTO THE REGION ON SATURDAY. JUST KEEPING YOU UPDATED ON THE TROPICS. WE’RE STILL TRACKING A LOT. WE DID HAVE HAROLD THAT MADE LANDFALL EARLIER TODAY. IT’S JUST NOW A REMNANT LOW. FRANKLIN’S THE NEXT STORM SYSTEM THAT WE REALLY HAVE TO WATCH. WE ALSO HAVE GERT, WHAT’S LEFT OF EMILY AND ANOTHER WAVE OFF THE COAST OF AFRICA. BUT AS FRANKLIN MOVES TO THE NORTH AND GETS CLOSER TOWARDS THE EAST COAST, WHAT IT’S GOING TO DO FOR OUR WEATHER IS IT’S GOING TO BRING IN ANOTHER SHOT OF UNSEASONABLE, DRIER AIR AND COMFORTABLE WEATHER FOR MUCH OF NEXT WEEK WITH TEMPERATURES

Fall Like & Dry Wednesday; Higher Humidity & Rain Chances Thursday

Autumn-like air lingers overhead Tuesday night as temperatures fall to the mid 50s. Wednesday stays comfy and dry. Shower chances rise Wednesday night.

A touch of fall is in the air but it won’t last. As humidity returns so do the chances for showers and thunderstorms. More comfortable and dry weather returns down the road.A northerly flow of Canadian air will keep the Susquehanna Valley comfortable and dry through most of Wednesday. A warm front will move in ahead of a storm tracking across the Great Lakes late Wednesday night into early Thursday. That will bring back the humidity and some rain and thunderstorms. We’ll keep this frontal boundary in the region with passing upper level energy so more scattered showers and storms are possible through the day. It doesn’t look like the day will be a washout, but showers and thundershowers may be around at times. Highs will be near 80 degrees with muggy to steamy humidity around. A stronger, more robust, upper-level disturbance brings better chances for scattered showers and storms again Thursday night into early Friday morning. Our weather pattern stays active as a cold front to arrive with some more scattered showers & storms towards Friday evening into Friday night. We don’t look for a wash out, but it’ll remain muggy with showers around for high school football games. This front lingers in the region Saturday so we still have a chance for showers and thunders. Finally the front looks to move to our south Sunday and more comfortable, warm and mainly sunny weather should return later in the weekend and linger into early next week.
