Star Wars: Patty Jenkins has other commitments, delaying Rogue squadron | movie

“Star Wars: Rogue Squadron” has been postponed.

“Wonder Woman” director Patty Jenkins will be directing a new science fiction movie, but fans will have to wait a bit longer as Patty’s schedule promises make it impossible to make a movie in 2022.

Jenkins and writer Matthew Robinson have been developing a project with Lucasfilm for over a year and were planning to start pre-production by the end of this year.

But insiders say producers and filmmaking teams have found that Jenkins’ schedule and other commitments don’t allow the time needed to make next year’s film.

The Rogue Squadron is currently out of production schedule, but the December 2023 release date still remains.

Patty is also working on a third “Wonder Woman” movie, sources say it could move forward as a result of the delay to the new “Star Wars” flick.

It is hoped that Jenkins will be able to return to the project if he fulfills other promises.

Lucasfilm also has a number of “Star Wars” projects, including the Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige’s project and the acclaimed director Taika Waititi’s project.

Earlier this year, Patty revealed that the script for “Rogue Squadron” was almost complete and that the film’s development was “amazing.”

The 50-year-old director said: I’m so excited about this story that we’re excited to be the next chapter in Star Wars. This is such a responsibility and an opportunity to really start something new. As such, it’s really exciting. “”
