Penn State THON 2023 Breaks Records for Second Year in a Row, Raises More Than $15 Million

This is the second year in a row that THON’s fundraising record has been broken.

University Park, Pennsylvania (WTAJ) — THON 2023 is on the books, breaking last year’s record and raising $15,006,132.46.

For the second year in a row, THON’s fundraising record has been broken. 15,006,132.46 is four diamonds Helping the Pennsylvania State Children’s Hospital fight childhood cancer. In 2022, THON raised $13,756,374.50.

THON is the world’s largest student-run charity. At 6 p.m. Friday he had over 700 students fill Bryce Jordan and he remained standing until 4 p.m. Sunday. The 46-hour marathon extravaganza featured live music, dance performances, motivational talks, and families affected by childhood cancer.

Since 1977, when Four Diamonds was the sole beneficiary, THON has raised over $200 million for pediatric cancer patients and their families.

This is the second year THON is back in person. In 2021, the event was virtually held due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
