Sir Elton John unveiled two special hometown shows on Vicalage Street on his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour.
The “Your Song” hitmaker, who became chairman of Watford FC in 1976 and is still an honorary life officer, performed on the club’s stadium in 1974, 2005, and 2010, and then June 3 and 4. Gig twice.
Elton, who has a stand named after himself at Vicarage Road, said in a statement:
“Many years of relationships with clubs, fans, players and staff have meant the world to me. Watford has been a big part of my life, good and bad.
“I love clubs and had the best days of my life at these stands. These shows are very moving and it’s great to be surrounded by fellow Watford fans.
“We have traveled a lot together. Come on, Onze!”
The 74-year-old music legend quits the tour after completing the rest of his farewell tour, which was postponed until 2023, after he had a hip replacement surgery after he fell and was injured.
And while he won’t make any more major excursions around the world, the “Tiny Dancer” star, who has Zachary, 10, and her husband David Furnish and eight-year-old Elijah, makes him music. Claimed not to give up completely, as he keeps making new songs
He recently said, “I’m sure this is the last tour. I’ll do a charity show when asked, but I’ll never tour again. When I’m done, I’ll be 76. I need to be with my boy. Become a teenager.
“I always make music. I always work on the radio, but you know I’ve been playing music since I was 17 as a professional.
“It’s 57 years and it’s going to be 59 years by the end of me. I had enough applause, I can’t do a better show than I’m doing, so I’m really really, I I really affirm that I will never tour again. I can’t. “
