Sheetz has temporarily reduced the price of Unleaded 88 and E85 petrol at 349 convenience stores across its geographical footprint to give drivers a little more relief for the July 4th vacation period.
The company announced Monday afternoon that it has cut prices to alleviate consumer “pump pain.”
The lead-free 88 has been reduced to $ 3.99 per gallon and the price of E85 has been reduced to $ 3.49 per gallon. By comparison, the price of lead-free 87 remained at $ 4.99 per gallon on Monday afternoon.
The price is temporary and will be available during the holidays on July 4, the company said.
The Unleaded 88 has been approved by the EPA for use in vehicles modeled after 2001, as well as light trucks, SUVs and flex-fuel vehicles.
According to Sheetz, E85 petrol contains more ethanol (51% -83%) and is not compatible with all vehicles. It is specially designed for “flexible fuel vehicles” or FFVs. The FFV can use regular gasoline (E10), E15, or E85.
“If available, E85 is explicitly designated as a different fuel type and should not be used in standard vehicles. Check the owner’s manual to see if your vehicle can run on E85. Please, a press release announcing the discounted price.
According to Gas Buddy, the national average price of gasoline in the leading area fell 7.8 cents per gallon last week, averaging $ 4.92 per gallon on Monday.
Sheetz operates 650 stores in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, and North Carolina. Temporary discounts are available at 349 stores. Sheetz does not have offices in the counties of Chester, Delaware and Montgomery.
