Pennsylvania State Police Honors War Dead Through 118-Year History

HERSHEY, Pennsylvania (WTAJ) — Soldiers gathered at the Pennsylvania State Police Academy to honor the fallen Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) officers and highlight the department’s 118th anniversary.

The PSP honored the sacrifices of the division’s fallen members on Saturday at a memorial dedicated to those members in Hershey.At the ceremony, the names of all 103 members who died were read out. .

Trooper Monty Mitchell, who served in Dubois with C Force, became the 103rd name added to the memorial wall. Trooper Mitchell died after suffering a medical emergency while on duty on February 8, 2021.
