Awesome Again Stakes

Following the American Pharoah Stakes is the Awesome Again Stakes. It is another Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series game that will be showcased on October 3, 2021. This horse racing event was founded in 1982 and was initially known as the Goodwood Handicap. However, around 2006, it became part of the Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series, which was then changed to the said name.

The Awesome Again Stakes holds a pot prize of $300,000. It’s held at a dirt track where only three and four-year-old racehorses are allowed to participate. The horses will compete at a ⅛ mile distance. Once an entry wins in the Awesome Again Stakes, he will not only get good odds, but he automatically earns a spot at the 2021 Breeders’ Cup.

Rodeo Drive Stakes

This horse racing event started in 1977. It has been recently changed to the Rodeo Drive Stakes from its original name and became part of the Breeders’ Cup Challenge. Aside from that, the winning horse will automatically book a flight to Del Mar as it will earn an automatic berth to the 2021 Breeder’s Cup. Mares are also allowed to participate in this show.

Speakeasy Stakes

For horses who want to gain experience before competing in big races, the Speakeasy Stakes is the best event to consider. It is an annual horse racing show that takes place at Santa Anita every October 1. The winning horse will earn a sure spot at the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint.

The Speakeasy Stakes began in 1969, accepting horses of both sexes. It’s held in a 5-furlong turf distance. Also, only horses that are two years old are allowed to join. The winning horse will win a prize of $100,000. The current titleholder is Amanzi Yimpilo, trained by Luis Saez.

Eddie  D Stakes

The Eddie D Stakes will find its home again at Santa Anita this October 1.  Founded in 1974, this horse racing show was initially named Morvich Handicap. Also, the Eddie D Stakes is a Grade 2 event and is competed by both three and four-year-old thoroughbred racehorses. All participating horses will compete in a turf track.

Additionally, Eddie D Stakes holds a distance of 5 ½ furlongs. It carries a pot prize amounting to $200,000. Last year, Victor Garcia’s Big Runner won the Eddie D Stakes title.
