Sacred Heart Academy appoints new principal following national search – Mainline Media News

Bryn Mawr — Sacred Heart Academy Bryn Mawr has announced that Carlayantos McMullen has been appointed as the next principal of the Sacred Heart Academy. Following the conclusions of a national survey conducted over the past seven months, the Board unanimously approved the appointment of Mac Mullen.

Mac Mullen, principal of Kew-Forest School in Forest Hills, Queens, NY, is now at Sacred Heart, with over 30 years of experience in an independent school in both leadership and teacher roles. She will take on her role at Bryn Mawr in July.

The search, chaired by Sacred Heart graduate and board member Mary Locke Cavallaro ’86 and school search consultants Carney, Sandoe & Associates, involved the entire school community. During the search process, community research and conversations revealed a widespread consensus between the board and the community. Best of all, the next principal is an eloquent champion of missions, goals, standards, and unique value propositions for Sacred Heart Academy education. And they are equally skilled in supporting and leading important business operations in school life that will sustain the mission of the school in the future.

Founded in Philadelphia in 1865, the Sacred Heart Academy is a member of the Sacred Heart School network. The network includes 25 schools in the United States and Canada. All Sacred Heart schools are committed to educating the goals and standards of Sacred Heart education. Goals include faith, intellectual value, services, communities, and personal growth.

The school is located on 16 acres on Bryn Mawr Avenue and is an international, independent, Catholic school with all girls from kindergarten to high school.
