Moon Township (KDKA)-The latest president has been appointed to Robert Morris University.
The school has announced that Dr. Michelle L. Patrick has been appointed as the ninth president of the university and that the first woman in school history has served as president.
She will come into effect soon.
“After a thorough and complete search process involving a wide range of representatives from the university community, we are confident that there is a perfect leader who embraces the value and mission of RMU and its rich and successful history. It has the potential to become a future leader in our region, “said Morgan O’Brien, Chairman of the RMU Board.
Dr. Patrick has been the Dean of the RMU Business School for six years and has been the Interim President since April when Interim President and President Mary Ann Rafos announced her retirement.
Meanwhile, former President Chris Howard resigned in February and took a leading role in Arizona State University.
“I’m really honored to be elected 9th President of Robert Morris University. RMU has a beautiful campus and state-of-the-art facilities, but students, graduates, faculty, staff and the board of directors say that RMU does. It’s a special place, “said Dr. Patrick. “It is the passionate dedication of these groups that ensures continued student success.”
Prior to joining RMU, he was Dean of the Faculty of Business and Administration at West Chester University, Pennsylvania.
