Fire breaks out in Clearfield County lumber yard early in the morning | WTAJ

Woodland, Pennsylvania (WTAJ) — An early morning fire at the Walker Sawmill in Woodland destroyed the sawmill building and destroyed part of Rt. 322 closed Wednesday morning.

Walker Lumber president Nicholas Ince said the sawmill was abandoned and there was an auction of many items inside just a few weeks ago. said he believed the fire was caused by welding equipment.

Ince said the fire department headed to the building at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18. Then they came back at 2am. That’s when they found the sawmill on fire and called 9-1-1.

Ince said the sawmill building was destroyed, but daily operations are unaffected.

“There has been no real impact, no negative impact on business at all. I look forward to continued good business success,” Inse told WTAJ.

Hope Fire Company When first responders arrived at the fire, they reported that a second alarm was requested.

Route 322 has since reopened.
