Red Bus Lane Painted Along Market Street – NBC10 Philadelphia

Red bus lanes will appear on Market Street this week as part of the PennDOT project, which aims to repair and resurface more than 60 miles of roads across the city.

From 8 p.m. Monday through 5 a.m. Tuesday, PennDOT will close lanes along Market Street to paint bus lanes along the road between Juniper Street and 4th Street.

Officials at PennDOT, an agency partnered with SEPTA and the City of Philadelphia to implement the project, said workers were closing lanes on both sides of Market Street while the paint job was underway. Drivers said they should be prepared for delays.

In addition to these bus lanes, workers will also resurface 14 state highways in the city as part of an ongoing $10 million project.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT contractors are using asphalt material to scrape and resurface 14 Philadelphia state highways and perform a variety of road maintenance.
