Problems, Solutions, and Future: Why Pennsylvania State University Students Face Sexual Violence | Pennsylvania News

Sonica Kori, a sophomore at Pennsylvania State University, sometimes prepares to set off on a night when fears of becoming a victim of sexual assault settle in her mind.

She knows the statistics: more than one in four undergraduate women here were either victims of sexual assault or attempted sexual assault. She was beaten, familiar with resources, and heard from a friend who organized the petition. And while sexual assault isn’t something she’s actively afraid to live in, she has enough, as the number of students at Pennsylvania State University is increasing.
