Phoenix Building Public Library offers free public programs – Daily Local

World War II movie

The award-winning movie “Bright Victory,” starring Arthur Kennedy and Peggy Dow, was filmed here in Phoenixville in 1950. The Phoenix Building Public Library will be hosting a free face-to-face presentation on filming “Bright Victory” and Valley Forge Army. A movie showing at 6 pm on Monday, June 6, at the hospital where the story takes place (97 minutes). Local writer June McKinney discusses filmmaking and the importance of an Army hospital to the local community. Join us for this special event to celebrate the 78th anniversary of D-Day. Tax support

The Phoenix Building Public Library will host a free mobile home tax revaluation assistance from 5 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, June 9th. Starting 2019-21, the Chester County Mobile Home Tax Reassessment Project has helped 756 owners save $ 833 a year per home! No reservation required. Bring ownership and other home documents (insurance certificate, sale / receipt if you bought the home after 2019). Evaluation support will be available in English and Spanish. United Way volunteer support. Partners for this project are Legal Assistance in Southeastern Pennsylvania, United Way in Chester County, and LCH Health & Community Services (formerly La Comunidad Hispana). The Phoenix Building Public Library offers free face-to-face technical help at certain times of the day on Monday afternoons and Tuesday and Wednesday nights. A one-hour reservation for laptop, tablet, or smartphone assistance from a library volunteer tutor is available by calling 610-933-3013. 132.
