Pennsylvania police officer shot dead in Allegheny County, suspect dead.report
Allegheny County, Pennsylvania (WHTM) – A police officer was shot Monday night in Brackenridge, Allegheny County, and the suspect was reportedly killed by police.
Duquesne’s 28-year-old Aaron Lamont Swann Jr. was caught in multiple police pursuits over the course of two days for a weapons probation violation, according to Allegheny County police officials.
Police said there was a traffic stop Monday where officers identified Swann Jr. and he was able to escape officers.
Police later located Swann Jr. around 2 p.m. Monday, but lost contact with him again. Around 4:00 p.m., officers located him again, and two shots occurred at him at a distance from each other.
Two officers were shot during the shooting, one fatally with a gunshot wound to the head. The second officer received a gunshot wound to his leg, but is in stable condition.
Police did not confirm which department the officer was a member of.
Suwan Jr. then carjacked a 2014 Subaru Legacy with license plate GMA 8620, police said.
according to WPXIciting multiple sources, Swan Jr. died after being shot by police following a chase in the city of Pittsburgh.
Residents of the area had been told to stay indoors as the search for Swann Jr. took several hours.
