Harrisburg, PA (AP) —The Pennsylvania Games Commission approved simultaneous deer and deerless deer hunting during the 2021-22 Firearms Deer Season.

LNP newspaper Report At a Saturday spring meeting, committee members acknowledged that much of the feedback they received after the two-week deer season was proposed in January was negative. However, Secretary-General Brian Berhans said during the comment period, “We mainly hear from people who oppose things.” Authorities said the Commission’s 2020 deer hunter survey showed that 52% of participating hunters supported the idea.

Last year, 10 of the 23 wildlife management units in the state hunted back and dough for two weeks at the same time, and the remaining 13 hunted for back only for one week followed by simultaneous hunting for the next week. I did it. Commissioner Mike Mitric said the hunter’s fear that the two-week season meant too many shots was unfounded.

The commissioner also voted “difficult” to ban the use of rifles for autumn turkey hunting because of the declining turkey population. If the data indicate that the numbers are recovering, they vowed to revisit the issue within a few years. Hunters can hunt turkeys using shotguns, muzzleloaders, crossbows, or archery methods.

In other news, the commissioner has approved the use of digital licenses instead of standard paper licenses.
