Robin Johnson charged with shooting on South Side in April

YOUNGTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A woman officer has been indicted by a Mahoning County grand jury in the shooting that injured another woman in the shoulder in April.

An indictment filed Thursday charges Robin Johnson, 26, with a first-degree felony charge for firing a firearm on or near prohibited premises. 2 felonies, 2nd degree felony. Improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle is a fourth degree felony.

The charges include 1 and 3 year firearm specifications, as well as 5 year running shooting specifications.

City police detective sergeant Anthony Vitullo said Mr Johnson was charged with the shooting of a woman on South Avenue and East Midlothian Boulevard around 3 a.m. on April 22.

Vitullo said the victim was in a car with the man, which was followed by Johnson from the bar. All three know each other, Vitullo said.

Vituro said Johnson and the victim had an argument before stopping in the street, leading to an altercation. That’s when the woman was shot in the shoulder, Vitullo said.

Johnson was released on bail until Thursday, when he was taken into custody by members of the Northern Ohio Violence and Fugitive Task Force.
