Eagles Draft Alabama OT Tyler Steen, Illinois Sidney Brown

The Philadelphia Eagles have decided to stop acquiring Georgia players and move to Alabama players instead.

That was Alabama offensive tackle Tyler Steen, acquired by the Eagles with the 65th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. This means the Eagles have acquired his three Bama players in his first three rounds of 2021 and beyond (Debonta Smith and Landon Dickerson in 2021). Howie Roseman and the Eagles clearly enjoy his SEC football.

Steen will be the Eagles’ swing tackle. That means he can play both left tackle and right tackle if needed.

Philadelphia also has the 66th overall pick, and used it to draft its first non-SEC player after acquiring Illinois safety Sidney Brown. After losing his Eps to CJ Gardner-Johnson and Marcus in free agency, Brown has a chance to start with the Eagles as a rookie. Brown is a playmaker on the safety side and in 2022 he recorded six interceptions. He also added seven pass deflections.

Eagles pick Jalen Carter Nominated 9th overall Nolan Smith, No. 30 overall pick on thursday.
