Orioles prospects Coby Mayo, Colton Cowser and Connor Norby have been promoted to Double A Bowie and continue to rise young talent – Reading Eagle

Three high-ranking Orioles prospects take a new step in the organization’s pipeline and receive a call from High A Aberdeen to Double A Bowie on Monday.

With the promotion of third baseman Coby Mayo (5th) and outfielder Colton Kauser (6th), Baltimore’s top nine outlooks are in the top minors or major leagues, respectively. Second baseman Connor Nobby, who ranks 11th in the Baltimore pipeline according to Baseball America, has also been called upon by Beisox.

Mayo’s promotion takes place the day after hitting 13 home runs in the season and is comparable to the long-ball systematic lead between Triple A Norfolk outfielder Kyle Stoise and Orioles outfielder Anthony Santander. Mayonnaise is hitting .250 with .805 OPS this season. He was hit as many times as he recorded a hit (60), but added 28 extra-base hits to Iron Birds this season, and his 42 RBIs are already the best in his career.

Mayo was drafted by Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida in the fourth round of the 2020 draft, and last season soared from a rookie ball to Rho A Del Malva. Now, after 63 games against Aberdeen, the 20-year-old will reach another level.

Kauser has risen similarly rapidly since being taken to the first round of the 2021 draft by Sam Houston State University. This 22-year-old player recorded .258 at the High-A level in his first season, adding 19 doubles and 16 stolen bases.

And Nobby, drafted in the second round after Kauser from East Carolina, was hitting .237 at .736 OPS for Aberdeen before his call.

The only member of Baltimore’s Top 10 Prospects is not yet a top minor. Outfielder Heston Kjerstad (No. 10) has recovered from his injury this month and made his debut in Delmarva, scoring .422 in 12 games.

Reconstruction in Baltimore is approaching the next stage as top prospects, such as catcher Adley Rutschman and right-handed Kyle Bradish, continue to approach or have already arrived at the majors. I have. Besides the promotion, there is evidence that the Orioles played winning baseball in June. Brandon Hyde’s four-season term could conclude his first win in a series with the Mariners.
