One was arrested after hours of searching in North Park in connection with a suspected domestic incident

Pittsburgh (KDKA)-One person was detained and charged after an overnight incident in China was suspected in North Park.

Police said police officers were summoned around midnight when the dispatcher was informed that a woman was screaming in a car near the tennis court.

Investigators said they approached the car and tried to talk to the driver, but the driver did not identify himself or answer the question.

The driver, who police identified as 31-year-old Austin Smyers, also had grass on his feet, a red mark on his hands, and his shoes off. According to police, the Smyers acted as if they were in possession of a weapon.

Police asked Smyers to get out of the car, but he refused several times, so police officers forced him away.

According to police documents, Smyers fought for a few minutes until the officers tasted him and found the knife he had.

I heard a woman screaming, but police said no one else was found in the car.

The rescue team was asked to search for a potential person, but no one was found.

Smyers was charged with resisting weighted assault and arrest.
