Relieved Christopher Sanchez Helps Iron Pigs Steal Series from Bisons – Wake Up Call

Sunday night at Coca-Cola Park, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs rallied to defeat the Buffalo Bisons 7-3 as Christopher Sanchez shut out six innings in relief and Jake Cave doubled to set a streak. was extended to 21 games.

Buffalo led 3-0 in the first inning, but Jim Haley hit a home run in the second and Jordan Ksar hit a deep RBI in the fourth to make it 3-2.

The Iron Pigs tied the game in the fifth inning. Simon Muziotti walked first in the first and stole two. He advanced to third base on a flyout and scored on Ksar’s sacrifice fly.

The Iron Pigs (25-25) loaded the bases in the seventh inning and scored two runs on Haley’s streak with one out to make it 5-3. In the seventh inning, Pigs added 1 run on a passed ball and 1 run on a wild pitch, adding 2 runs.

Sanchez (2 wins, 2 losses) gave victory to the Iron Pigs by allowing only 2 hits and 4 walks in his first relief appearance, while allowing 7 strikeouts.

After today’s off-day, the Iron Pigs will face Scranton/Wilkes-Barre at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday for the start of a six-game series.
