Missing dog found in Philadelphia, reunited with dead owner’s sister in Memphis – NBC10 Philadelphia

A lost dog found in Philadelphia has been reunited with his late owner’s sister in Memphis, Tennessee, after three years away.

On May 8, a dog named Bentley was spotted roaming around Philadelphia and brought to the ACCT Philadelphia shelter. ACCT Philadelphia personnel scanned him and found him to be microchipped. A call to the phone number provided answered Dee Dee, the Bentley owner’s sister in Memphis, Tennessee.

Dee Dee told ACCT Philly that her sister had died two years ago and that Bentley had been missing for over three years. Dee Dee spent years trying to find him, but never did. Dee Dee has expressed his desire to retrieve the only Bentley left by his sister.

ACCT Philly spent 20 days trying to secure transportation to bring the Bentley back to Memphis. They reached out last week to Whiskers, Tails and Scales Transport, the volunteer pilot who transported the Bentley to Tennessee on Sunday. After that, I met again with Dee Dee on Monday.

In a video obtained by NBC10, DeeDee can be seen in tears while hugging a Bentley. She told NBC10 that she had activated her sister’s cell phone so she could retrieve it if the Bentley was found.

“Every time I see a Bentley, it reminds me of how he and his sister used to go and walk together and how Bentley comforted her and everything,” she said. “So it’s great. It’s really nice to have him back home.”
