Mike Tindall broke up in the Euro 2020 final on Sunday (11.07.21).
The former rugby star was sitting at Wembley Stadium in London, waiting for a kick-off with his wife, Zara, the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth. After a brawl between two nearby fans and an audience, he intervened to stop the line. I hit him and broke his nose.
One source told The Sun: “The area near where Zara and Mike were sitting was so crowded that I was a little nervous.
“Two fans punched up and Mike had to step in to save the day.
“He stood between them and pulled them apart before Steward took them under control.
“Unfortunately, blood spilled near Zara and she had to wipe it off with a tissue.
“It was an absolute mayhem. Wembley was very lucky that Mike was able to control the turmoil.”
England eventually lost the match 3-2 with a penalty, but the 42-year-old sportsman tweeted praise for the team after the match.
He writes: “I’m very proud of @ England Football and I wasn’t on the road to England tonight, but the players in this group have made great strides. I think I’ll be in the tournament for years to come. “”
But Mike admitted just a week ago that he had never been interested in sports.
He tweeted after England defeated Sweden 2-0 to advance to the final. “Don’t worry about football in my life. Tonight you’ll think it’s the only sport I know. I’m a big congratulations to the @England team. All the players are great tonight! Sunday Roll to! (Sic) “
